Tenants are the majority in New York – and we’re going to win a rent freeze. A rent freeze would mean being able to stay in our neighborhoods, having more time with our families and more money to cover the basics. Over one million people voted for a mayor who will freeze the rent – and we're going to make sure we get it. Join the Rent Freeze Campaign to kick off the Rent Guidelines Board's deliberation season, discuss our strategy for winning the rent freeze this year, meet tenants from around the city, and get connected to organizing resources.  Interpretation will be available in Spanish and Mandarin. But when circumstances arise that force his girlfriend Destiny to move in with his family, the small apartment becomes the stage for their messy, complicated love life. It is only a matter of time before they must face a sobering reality: they are growing up too fast in a city that waits for no one. Writer-director Joel Alfonso Vargas turns his hometown into the heartbeat of his debut feature film. Teaming up with talent cast on the streets, he and his two leading actors deliver an authentic, slice-of-life portrait of the Bronx. With grit and humour, he paints a tender portrait of the chaos and charm of urban living as well as the ups and downs of youthful abandon when life takes an unexpected turn.

Join the Tenant Union Caucus meetings (monthly on the last Thursday of the month) to meet other tenant union leaders and organizers to workshop and strategize how to build durable tenant unions and integrate them into housing justice organizing across the state.
