You've seen the news — Syracuse's Council votes on Good Cause on February 23rd. They're split in half on whether to pass this law that would strengthen tenant protections for tens of thousands of Syracuse residents. Landlords are pushing hard to reject the bill, and we need to outnumber them and speak up at the Council vote.
Over 60% of Syracuse households are tenants, and we have some of the highest rent hikes in America. Good Cause protections limit rent hikes, and give tenants a right to a lease renewal to stop retaliation and give us security in our homes. Last year, after Council made us the only city in New York to reject Good Cause, we elected new leaders. Will they stand with tenants or landlords?
